This post will be about an architecture book, but will not include much information on the topic. This is to demonstrate what the title should not look like. People often ask me to recommend books that they can read to learn more about Architecture. I decided that instead of just recommending one or two, I would put together a list of my favorite Architecture books in case it helps people find one for themselves. I have read a lot of Architecture books, so it was hard to narrow it down to my top five. I have included images of the covers in case they are helpful. This book is outstanding. It covers so many different styles in each region of the world in an effort to really understand why certain regions look the way they do. The author divides architecture into four categories: national, regional, antique and modern architecture, with national architecture being the most famous examples of that country's style. The author then goes on to discuss the relationship between each style and its location. The book also looks at how each style is constructed with special emphasis on materials and construction methods used by different peoples around the world. I really enjoyed the way the book opened my eyes to the different architecture styles and how they can be related to what is happening in a culture. Here is a link to the book on Amazon: Architecture: Form, Space and Order Title: Another World Pdf 19 So I was browsing for books about architecture (I read about 5-8 different ones every month). One such title that I picked up was Another World . It was highly rated by Goodreads and had an interesting premise that it would take you "another world" through photos of buildings, but it failed miserably. This book is great and has a great design. I really enjoyed seeing the different details of many different buildings and their histories. It's quite interesting to see how people built structures such as cathedrals and castles in the Middle Ages, and I like to think that this was a way to tell stories. Title: Architectural Heritage In Modern Europe Pdf 50 Architectural Heritage in Modern Europe is a rather short book, but it's very extensive on its subject. It looks at architecture from different angles: architectural history, ideas, aesthetics and materiality. It discusses buildings in France, Germany, Great Britain, Sweden and Italy. I really enjoyed this book because it makes people rethink what they think about architectural history. The book includes examples of buildings that are very different from most others you might read about. Title: Architecture - A visual history Pdf 15 This is a really great overview of architecture that is divided into three sections: Ancient architecture, Byzantine architecture and Architecture since the 19th century. This book shares with you how each period evolved their style with examples from different regions where you can see the changes. Title: Architecture - A visual guide Pdf 15 This is another great collection of pictures with explanations on why certain structures are the way they are. cfa1e77820
